The secret, treasure, and marvel of Tokaj; a true nectar. Its exceptionally rich aromas evoke apricot jam, prunes, and candied fruits. Uniquely honey-sweet but lively and harmonious thanks to its acidity. It provides a tasting experience beyond words.
We carefully gather the individually hand-picked aszú grapes during the harvest, placing them into tanks equipped with acid-resistant, perforated trays, all while keeping them under controlled refrigeration. During storage, the aszú grapes release juice due to their own weight, which we collect. This nectar, collected drop by drop from aszú grapes, is the Tokaji Eszencia.
After a mild winter, spring came early. The vegetative season was moderately warm and dry, allowing the ripening process to proceed smoothly. Harvest started on 14 September. Thanks to the September rains, the botrytisation process began as planned, allowing us to gather an excellent harvest of aszú grapes. The vintage was above average in terms of both dry and sweet wines.
